The GOOD News:For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him. THAT'S IT IN A NUTSHELL.
THE whole chebang IN A NUTSHELL
"‘Love the Lordyour God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
"... the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline."
(to Tim)
Of Jesus from the feathered pen of Dr. Luke:
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.
Whatever you have learned
or received or heard from me,
or seen in me -
put it into practice.
And the God of peace will be with you.
God-the-Creator's demonstrated continual interest is the wellbeing of all of us. There is something enormously special about love. Uniquely transformative. Fascinating.
Love! Hold it close; health, humor and happiness are wrapped in its hug. Allow its joy to infuse the air you breathe. In. And out. Absorb its nurturing strength, its lightness, its lift. How awesome, oh human!
Oh human, lest truth be foiled, know it is Spirit that God-the-Creator breathed into earth's dust. It is out to humaness the One who was and is and ever will be breathed into being reflected divinity. How awesome, oh human!
Love, Oh Human, Ursula declares, "doesn't just sit there like a stone, it has to be made, like bread; remade all the time, made new." Marvelous working models worked by our ancestry - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - just as our good neighbors do, kneading the bits, fixing the mix, plaiting, radically inclusive baking. Awesome!
Done right by God. Doing right by each other. Energized by Unflinching Grace.
"I have loved you with an everlasting love."

to the lived story.
The Walk
Nicolette Sowder
"Give me the wild children with their bare feet and sparkling eyes. The restless, churning climbers. The wild ones using their outside voices, singing all the way home. Give me the wonder-filled, glorious mess makers dreaming of mountains and mud, aching to run through a field of stars."

"We reinforce our identity each and every day: thoughts, actions, beliefs."
"Live without pretending. Love without depending. Listen without defending. Speak without offending."

Isaiah, the Prophet
"Rise up, shine, because your light has come. The glory of Yahweh has risen upon you. Look, darkness has covered the land. Deep darkness covers the people. But Yahweh will rise upon you. His glory will appear over you, and nations will come to your light."
Bishop Gene Robinson
"It's funny isn't it? That you can preach a judgmental and vengeful and angry God and nobody will mind. But you start preaching a God that is too accepting, too loving, too forgiving, too merciful, too kind . . . and you are in trouble."
Desmond Tutu
"You may be surprised at the people we find in heaven. God has a soft spot for sinners. His standards are quite low.."
ALWAYS! ALWAYS! ALWAYS! Consult YOUR preferred / respected QUALIFIED counsel or professional when dealing with YOUR pain, loss, tragedy, trauma, or grief.
Tragedies and traumas are not conditions ONE can simply SNAP OUT from. They remain corrosive until effectively dealt with! Be aware that some personal beliefs, cultural attitudes and traditions can keep persons trapped in traumas which are then perpetuated across generations. This reality is often obvious to those who refuse to live in the excuse of it and oblivious to those who excuse it. We (individually, collectively, the human) have the power to change those trajectories and inhabit better circumstances. It is worth repeating: humans, marvelously made, a work in progress, a divine project. Isn't that awesome?
QUESTION 1: How do you deal with a defeat or loss or a challenge you did not anticipate?
QUESTION 2: What have you learned from this experience you now value as actionable?
"Healing is so hard because it's a constant battle between your inner child, who's scared and just wants safety, your inner teenager, who's angry and just wants justice, and your adult self, who is tired and just wants peace. Be gentle with yourself."
Dear God, grant me victory today over all that assails. Help me square up to even the greatest challenges and claim authority over them, unafraid. Amen.
"Learn to find joy in the story you are actually living." Rachel Marie Martin
"It was not enough to come and listen to a great sermon or message every Sunday morning and be confined to those four walls and those four corners. You had to get out and do something."
The COMPASS: So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. THAT'S IT in THE HEART
