Like any good mother, her desire was to have her child grow bright and bold, and to be full of good humor and wit, and to be generous and courageous and kind.
For, being such, how could anyone not have the most beautiful story?
After all, what is the code and concept of life, of living, of humanity, if it is not to find one's calling and to have that calling be greater than one's self; if it is not to pursue that calling and complete it with joyous self-respect?
How prepared (or enabled) are we for the quality of life we desire as well as for our life's contribution beyond the present breath?
This is one of three questions we engaged this week as they regard our personal values as well as the value we anticipate delivering to life's marketplace.
Being truly fit is an essential element of exceptional performance, meaningful community engagement, and quality living.
Often when we think of fitness or of being in the pink of health we have in mind the appearance of physical fitness, or the absence of an obvious ailment or pain, or the presence of physical acuity or strength, or not being over or under a desirable weight.
On The Journey we view fitness in terms of wholeness of being, and good health as a resource for living a full life, i.e., that this is about being fit of body, mind and spirit, with an ability to bounce back from life's vicissitudes. This total fitness encompases personal wholeness across at least four human performance elements:
To that end (to fullfill our potential offered by the gift of life) we've organized our personal values for this season around seven operational cornerstones:
Enjoy actionable discoveries continuously shared - smartly - particularly those that uplift, inspire, promote harmony, expand opportunities, exemplify beauty, and reveal wonder, in other words, those proven to strengthen our emboldened exercise of genuine love through all of love's fertile dimensions, supplying those of us who are blessed and inspired to take action with necessary skillsets to be awesome in our real world. Namaste. Share.

Miracles of mind-over-matter and follies of matterless minds are enormously edifying.
I enjoy the story of David and Goliath on many different levels. The imagery of a particular incident satisfies me so deeply, I smile from my very core at every reflection of it, enhanced no doubt by the wealth of my non-ordinary imagination. And each time this incident comes to mind it lifts me to newer levels of readiness. Picture it: those seasoned cowards fetching their battle-ready uniform to fit David for a battle that would be etched on the annals of our psyche through ages. Picture it: David looking those battle-weary soldiers straight up and down then opting for a slingshot and five stones for the fight. Picture his mathematics: how many stones does David need to down The Goliath?
Create and optimize transferable value for a life of lasting significance regardless of endeavor.
We define profitable exchange to be 'value for value' offered in the arena where stakeholders are satisfied, causes are advanced toward individual and common good, and lives are experiencing wholeness and enjoying significance.
We are exploring alongside exceptional creators, influencers and producers. As a barometer, during each of these episodes we are applying a relevant value-set of one or other of RyoSports Athletes pivotal cornerstones - fierce, flexible, fun, friendly, free, fashionable - to guage health, wealth and wellbeing, and will encourage you to do likewise.
Hop on for a fun and fruitful ride.
Today's pivot QUESTION: let's suppose you have resolved a) that there is no stand-in available to absorb your life experience and b) that no stunt double is being provided for your life's performance; in other words, you are your own stand-in, you are your own stunt double
- which of your values empower you to do your utmost to offer the highest value for the gift of life?

The Sum of small steps Repeated Consistently is a Giant Leap.
Most probably most of us have a strong sense of what it takes to get to be what we want to be and to go where we want to get to - good ideas, achievable goals, great attitude, reliable support, outstanding performance; an expectation of great things for ourselves, as Michael Jordan informed us. The only issue we face is commitment. To be committed day-in-day-out, come rain or shine, takes much more than force of will, you may have already discovered, good soldier. Indeed, it does take building a strong mindset, for then the body will very likely want to follow along. Yes, it does take a will to win, a desire to succeed, and an urge to reach one's full potential, as Confuscius revealed. However, if the body is not primed to go, you aint getting there, buddy! Very likely the mind will keep dreaming and dreaming and dreaming when what we want and need are giant leaps - the habit of leaping greatly (an unbroken accumulation of small steps is a fruitful way)!
Dreaming is fun. Doing the dream is funner. Living the dream - well, now you are in a whole other arena! You won't know what that is until you get there. But for the getting there, what you get out is going to be from what you put in. Effort is what gets you started; energy is what keeps you going. May I repeat that? Effort gets you started; energy keeps you going. Energy. Energy. Energy. Effort. Energy. Effort. Energy. Oh! Then there is that nasty thing called waste! Wasted energy, wasted effort; these are motivation killers, momentum killers. Mortal enemies. Assassins. Recommendation: don't hide from them; face them head-on! And defeat them soundly. Yes, it's good to know how to do that.
"Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior. Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny." _ Mohandas Gandhi
I believe it was Dale Carnegie who reminded us that "People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing." I've found this to be overwhelmingly true within circles I'm fortunate to inhabit. This does not mean that these able folks fine every jot and tittle of their efforts and routines a bag of joy and laughter, but the joy of the eating, as it were, is more than worth the burn of onions diced to spice the cooking. However, I am not a big fan of Jay Cutler's frequently quoted declaration, "What hurts today makes you stronger tomorrow." Though this latter contains measures worthy of its fame, I leave its regurgitation to others far more appeased and encouraged by its claim. I am aware of way-way-way too many exceptions, way-way-way too many to whom the repetition of which is like sand and salt pressed into their wounds and to others who will never sully their earned strength with any acclaim to such ignominious pain. But I can tell you about a good thing I know, the list of which is so incredibly long, naming any name named there is to do disservice to the others on that list who continue to bolster, strengthen, encourage, teach, and mentor the likes of yours truly along with countless others who perform marvels. I have a name for this thing. Never mind that name. These nigh on super humans are ordinary folks who despite not being in the pink of condition, despite being injured, despite being disabled when the moment counted, remain standing through the test of our times for their achievement against all odds. Oh, yes! They didn't have the welcomed luxury of total fitness but, boy, were they fit for the task! Superbly. Can you name a few of these wonder humans? I bet you can. Super Champions they are. Maybe you are one of them!

"Know what you own. Understand what you claim. Believe you can achieve what you conceive then call it by its name. Mine! The extent to which you have this clarity of mind, this purity of understanding, this strength of belief, you have the fire, the fuel, the impetus, the passion, the determination, the willpower you require to pursue and retrieve your truest desire. But do not claim what does not belong to you. It will not keep you . . . it will suffer you but for only so long."
You are valued. You are important. What you experience is important. Your intention matters. You are a whole being. You are a true wonder. You diminish yourself whenever you pit valued elements of who you are against vital elements of who you are: your intuitive self against your intellectual self, your rational self against your emotional self, your gut against your heart against your head. Don't be put at war against yourself: you are a masterpiece. An intricate being. Human!

Across the nation and around the world there is a long rumble.
It is a rumble so loud it strikes ready ears as a distant clap of a fierce thunder. It is a rumble so low, it rides beneath the noise of a thousand human fears; it can no longer be heard. Fear of flight, fear of heights, fear of sand, fear of snow, fear of monsters in the closet, fear of bugs in the pillow, fear of cats, fear of bats, fear of strangers at the door, fear of being lost, fear of being laughed at, fear of being stuck in the toilet bowl, fear of whites, fear of blacks, fear of browns, blues and yellows, fear of nakedness, fear of the unknown, fear of being hurt.
