What might you assess about your accomplishment - having for starters designed, assembled and aligned systems necessary for you to be you (your circulatory system, your digestive, endocrine, immune, lymphatic, nervous, muscular, reproductive, respiratory, urinary, and integumentary systems), along with vital organs (brain, heart, liver, lungs), Oooh, and all of whatever else you need to self-learn (yes, every part of you learning as you go, adjusting as you go, able to withstand what you must just to be you), built to experience this dynamic thing you and I call life? Wow! Your functioning body! You, keeping it together! Yes! What is your assessment of this masterpiece? Would you say magnificent?Magnificence learning from magnificence. Mine learning from yours. Yours learning from mine! Multiplied by billions! We are in this together - learning.
Here is something significant we've learned about how to not place our body in self-jeopardy while in cold environments. Sometimes the good life is not so much about do or don't as it is about more or less:

More honey: a true super-food; enhances the immune system

More healthy sex, healthy touch, social connection: all sorts of good
Less negative (bad) stress: preserves the (good) immune system

Less alcohol: too much puts your systems in shivering modes
More water: that, we are; use it up and we are no more
More sleep: you are not a monster
More virus protection: keep the bad guys out
Less antibiotics: allow your systems to do what they do well

Walking Worthy
You may not be walking. You may be driving or flying. Regardless, if your vehicle is not journey-ready you have set yourself up for disaster. Your vehicle needs to be travel-worthy. Isn't it strange, the longest uninteruped physical relationship each of us has and will have is with this very vehicle - our body. Yes. Our body knows us better than we know ourselves. That's what friends are for. Yet, how friendly are we with our body? Have we developed an enduring friendship - a state of mutual trust and support - a healthy rapport as worthy as a durable pact between smart strong allied nations? Might it be that we have taken this our bestest friend for granted for so long we have forgotten or never really learned how to be a truly good friend? Is our best friend, our ally, our strong support, worthy of us? Have we abandoned our bestie to second fiddle, flaunting our flirtations with dismissive disdain? Hoping for the best? Burdening our angels as if slaves? Maybe this is the moment for us to learn to walk worthy of our body's devotion: shoulders square, head high, close, intimate, grateful for the time afforded to each other. Who knows, it might well be for a very long time more to come. Then again! Well, who knows! Every moment is the best moment to show love. Period.
Life is about movement. Rhythm. Have you noticed? How moved are you from where you were? What is your understanding of progress? What is your understanding of being better? If, as it so often appears observing life's varied patterns, progress invariably takes the shape of a bell curve - rising to some plateau then trailing down or plummeting into irrelevance or obscurity - what is the meaning of progress to you, of being better, of reaching higher ground, of achieving significance, of being worthy, while you are on the farther edge of your plateau? Life is about movement. Have you noticed?
