There are three things you've got to be thinking about right now.

One: facing yourself! A lot of times we are running away from our pain. We are numbing ourselves. We are doing things that keep us in survival mode but don't help us thriving, and so you gotta turn around and face yourself. Face the challenges, the problems that are in your way, that are keeping you in a depressed or emotional state of being. So turn around and face yourself.

The second thing is you gotta embrace yourself. You've gotta embrace the parts of you that you feel the most shamed, the most insecure, the things you doubt the most; you've gotta turn around and embrace them; It doesn't mean you have to praise them, but you gotta embrace them and acknowledge that they are there, and be willing to take a look at it and embrace the parts of you that you do not like and especially do not love.

The third thing is that you gotta be willing to replace the old identity of yourself - the old thoughts and beliefs that keep you feeling stuck, that keep you feeling emotionally or physically burdened. You've gotta be willing to replace the old identity and step into a new self - a new version of you that gets you out of this rainy season.

So whatever it is you are going through right now, trust me, I've been through more emotional pain, relational pain, physical pain than I like to count. The thing is, it's teaching you something, it's telling you something, it's whispering at you, maybe it's screaming at you right now, telling you that the way you are being right now no longer serves you. It kept you in survival mode, so you can thank it. But now its time to replace it with a new identity and a new belief.

There are struggles. And there are challenges. Let's just say! Here among the best is the huge difference. Of those who have assessed their wholeness to be in full-part all-of-their being and who have simply found in the story of Jesus, God's unconditional connection (not coercion), LOVE (not religion), and who understand, absorb, comprehend and accepted THAT radical GRACE (not ideology) of this connection (all claims resolved by God), have simply relinquished that struggle (LET GO) and every sense of un-worthiness in exchange for a full portion of belonging (not dogma) - simply A NEW unbounded, unburdened, compasssionate PERSONHOOD relinquished from a struggle that keeps many feeliing continuously disconnected; for those who now recognise that that former battle is and was not theirs, who have chosen not to be drafted into such a fruitless battle, that struggle is gone! Punto Final! Dealt with. Done for! NOT LURKING IN THE BACKGROUND. (Simply tough for some to comprehend or accept - ergo - FAITH). But, oh, what a difference: Ah - upgrade - here, in a new arena, per se, in a new space not readily visibile while in the midst of that old fruitless unnecessary struggle (Jesus took it to handle it - that's it), there are challenges for these newly minted. This is a mighty difference. Not a struggle - not la-la-land - awesome challenges. Unburdened. Regardless, this is not for faint-of-hearts trapped in cross-winds of misinformation, misrepresentation, meddling, spirited chicanery, cultural morality wars borne of self-loathing, and escapist superstition. No. Some of those newly minted, per se, Re-Discover Sermon on The Mount. Fascinating. Transformative. Mind-bending. Wow! (One may need to unlearn or forego a few fetched perceptions and presumptions, and tune out noise-thumpers). It's a joy. Freely available. And always one's choice entirely. One still lives in the real world (MAGNIFICENT, MYSTERIOUS and ridiculously DANGEROUS), but not the same one (person / human) as before such a storied transformation, and not a mimic. There is the huge difference. Per se. It is a most crucial element of the story. And aren't we built for it? AWESOME.

Dear God, grant me victory today over all that assails. Help me square up to even the greatest challenges and claim authority over them, unafraid. Amen.
