Like any good mother, her desire was to have her child grow bright and bold, and to be full of good humor and wit, and to be generous and courageous and kind.
For, being such, how could anyone not have the most beautiful story?
After all, what is the code and concept of life, of living, of humanity, if it is not to find one's calling and to have that calling be greater than one's self; if it is not to pursue that calling and complete it with joyous self-respect?
There are many ways various entities describe this embodiment, this masterpiece, this miracle of creation, this channel of the power of a universe coursing through time - the human.
Eight billion strong, we are! So often we are proven no match for the force of nature (its mighty rivers, its glorious mountains, its fiery revolts, its thunderous oceans) and so often, thoroughly humbled, we turn around and conquer it (force of nature matched to force of nature) neither able to fully tame the other! Eight billion strong we are, still growing and valued, of necessity.
From whence cometh such power? And for what purpose?
Let's for convenience sake dissect this channel into four sections - physical, spiritual, intellectual, emotional - fully appreciating that any such dismemberment of this masterpiece in reality will utterly destroy it. NB: For eductational purposes only. So, where does this mighty power reside?
Ah! A fascinating revelation!
Physical power is work done per elapsed time.
Emotional power is focused passion over force of will.
Intellectual power is capacity to effect change.
Spiritual power is divine expression of pure intention.
Thus uncovered, by the miracle of reconstitution we made this masterpiece whole again. Immediately, a series of questions arose, the most basic of which is this: where is all this power now? Eight billion crumpled chunks scattered.
In the oceans of believing there is very little belief.

SCENARIO: Vulnerable! Walking. Riding. Running. Driving. Floating. Flying. Journeying through the broad market place enroute to our grand arena, no mode of transport shields us from our natural vulnerability. No depth of inner peace, strength of resolve nor sanguine posture renders us invincible or invisible to immortal menace. Wisdom, we've come to learn, charts paths matched to pure intention. No coercion. No deception. No bribe necessary. Freely, wisdom obliges, should we accept its intelligence. Freely. Therein lies the rub. Breathe. Knees bent, teeth clenched, powerless, we beg, not recognizing who we are nor understanding how better to be. Unprotected. In denial. Dependent. Vulnerable. Vulnerable - that, for sure, we are! Compounded in a pretense. Hubris. Vanity. Buttressed. Still vulnerable.
Bring out the big guns then. Thunder. And lightening. Shock. And awe! "Powerlessness." Come fear and fury into that gap! Like bundles of energy freshly released into this sunlit wonder, scrambling through shadows at the friight of our own sounds, we shatter ourselves to pieces: eight billion crumpled chunks scattered beneath a gross misunderstanding! Vulnerable. Within. And without. Powerless. Wisdom shines its light again: power and vulnerability are distinctly uncoupled, by its design, neither a means to the other's end. Ah - epipahny!
Not quite yet.
It is easier to think our good angels have a wicked sense of humor. That our story is primed to prompt forth latent davidic impulses against advancing giants. And there might well be some flickering truth in that. That's the kind of story we love. Good unbowed before evil. Bloodied pawns buried! Temporary retreat. Fireworks! The pendulum swings. Don't sleep. Guards! Guards! Bring out the big guns.
Yes, we love a good battle - fire and ice - they infuse us with, with, with . . . something; they keep us drugged - buttressed against fears. The next generation will prove better, though. Yet this much we must know or at least can attest - having bred billions upon billions in our time - our children, our beautiful children, our awesome children, meek and mild, sponges glleefully absorbing faith full narratives, our children left alone boxed in with those very matchsticks, oh-dear-dear, one needs a lot of luck included in the boxset. A lot-o-lot of luck. For, good intention has never conquered stupid. And the burden of our history hasn't settled yet. Besides, that outcome has long been decided: heads chasing tails --- ever faster --- through a wilderness.
But what if - pray hear this - you were to discover - or let's just say it is so - or let's call it another kind of story - what if you were to discover that there exists imbedded in each of our children (yes, even within all of us) the slosh of a unique alchemy (not witchcraft, not magic, not sorcery, a potion as real as blood and bones), the amalgam of three untainted elements - freedom (true freedom), love (real love) and intention (pure intention) - when being experienced seamlessly through gut and heart and head - boom! That's real power. That is power at its purest. That is power at its highest. That power moves mountains. Up, thou sluggard, and be cast into the sea! Splash! And that all else of power is synthetic! That power is not a thing accumulated or attained by pursuit; it is harnessed from the bowel. It is not how much there is in you, it is how it is used. So, what if, you were to discover that this is indeed the case - love, freedom and pure intention experienced flowing silky smooth through gut and heart and head - you in that moment of discovery standing before a stubborn mountain that must-needs be moved . . .

Knowing better positions us to do better!
While making your daily journey through the broad market, do you find your engagements generally or specifically combative, competitive, passive, or collaborative? To what extent does your comportment influence your outcomes?
In order to assess whether our comportment supports our pure intention in the best way possible, let's employ a few sporting analogies to improve our understanding of the following two dispositions (or postures) :
Competitive
Combative.
We are generally disposed to think of all sporting activities as competitions. In actuallity, we may be better off (or at least for our daily-life market applications) categorizing the following popular sporting activities more precisely. This will facilitate application of best practices throughout our endeavors as well as help us align our actions with our intention.
COMBATIVE: Pugilistic sports, like boxing, fall into this category. "Winning" requires physically (sometimes mortally) disabling the opponent. Physical and personal harm is essential to the outcome.
COMPETITIVE: Sports like track and tennis fall into this category. "Wimning" is about putting out one's personal best efforts under the circumstance in a way that outperfoms or challenges the opponent's display of his or her best effort in that moment.
Should you be applying competitive or combative principles to your daily practice? How are you generating and using your true power? Are you combatting or competing? How does that approach align with your pure intention? What's the cost?
What are you doing to maximize your physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual power, and how are you optimizing the usage of each? Are the tools in your toolkit helpful in this regard?

"Know what you own. Understand what you claim. Believe you can achieve what you conceive then call it by its name. Mine! The extent to which you have this clarity of mind, this purity of understanding, this strength of belief, you have the fire, the fuel, the impetus, the passion, the determination, the willpower you require to pursue and retrieve your truest desire. But do not claim what does not belong to you. It will not keep you . . . it will suffer you but for only so long."
You are valued. You are important. What you experience is important. Your intention matters. You are a whole being. You are a true wonder. You diminish yourself whenever you pit valued elements of who you are against vital elements of who you are: your intuitive self against your intellectual self, your rational self against your emotional self, your gut against your heart against your head. Don't be put at war against yourself: you are a masterpiece. An intricate being. Human!

Across the nation and around the world there is a long rumble.
It is a rumble so loud it strikes ready ears as a distant clap of a fierce thunder. It is a rumble so low, it rides beneath the noise of a thousand human fears; it can no longer be heard. Fear of flight, fear of heights, fear of sand, fear of snow, fear of monsters in the closet, fear of bugs in the pillow, fear of cats, fear of bats, fear of strangers at the door, fear of being lost, fear of being laughed at, fear of being stuck in the toilet bowl, fear of whites, fear of blacks, fear of browns, blues and yellows, fear of nakedness, fear of the unknown, fear of being hurt.
