Like any good mother, her desire was to have her child grow bright and bold, and to be full of good humor and wit, and to be generous and courageous and kind.
For, being such, how could anyone not have the most beautiful story?
After all, what is the code and concept of life, of living, of humanity, if it is not to find one's calling and to have that calling be greater than one's self; if it is not to pursue that calling and complete it with joyous self-respect?
Shaquille O'neal calls 'them' his panel, and told us who they are. Warren Buffett has 'his peeps' too, and highly recommends that each of us assembles a set smarter than we are if our goal is to be personally fulfilled AND brilliantly productive in the broad market. The Dreamer identified this necessary bunch as Wise Matchmakers, and spelt out their essential purpose and qualities in Chapter Eleven of The Hunks I Dreamed. I call mine God-Sent - a fine cadre of confidants, coaches, mentors and muses. What do you call your peeps? And how did you pick them?
They are vested in you. They are into you. They are there for you. You - a sample of creation's magnificence - they raise your value. And for your cause - they bolster you. And for your pursuits - they counsel you smartly. They are your peeps. You choose them wisely.
You decided to create something amazing, because you walked through the door. You want to bring into being something beautiful, a thing that would change the trajectory of lives - even your own! Awesome.
You see, one day you faced the crucial question. You looked at your mirror and the question was there, and when you were prepared to answer it five doors appeared -
consumer
conserver
critic
creator
complainer
- and for whatever valid reason you chose door number four: creator! You entered that door. There was light. Now what? What do you do?
Enjoy actionable discoveries continuously shared - smartly - particularly those that uplift, inspire, promote harmony, expand opportunities, exemplify beauty, and reveal wonder, in other words, those proven to strengthen our emboldened exercise of genuine love through all of love's fertile dimensions, supplying those of us who are blessed and inspired to take action with necessary skillsets to be awesome in our real world. Do you know what oustanding creatives within your field and those adjacent to your field and those across from your interests and pursuits are thinking and doing?
SCENARIO: Woke? Like bundles of energy freshly released into this sunlit wonder, we came bobbing and weaving through its broad marketplace - life - bouncing from shiny object to shiny object. Much like the vast many released long before us, we knew this wonder-world is being shaped and reshaped by bold originals with big dreams and brand new ideas. And much like the vast many released with us, we have a common knowledge, and were similarly unacquainted with this broad market's grand rolling landscape - life - that it is a revolving and evolving interchange of markets and meta-markets, among which the most frequently talked about include:
the money market
the meddler's market
the funny market
the flower market
and the fish market.
Still, all of us, young and old, bright and bold, face this same boundary: we don't know what we don't know. Still, we all create fastidious segmented internal boundaries: perception - we think we know what we believe we know. And still, in strident efforts to outsmart common knowledge we construct inflexible emotional boundaries between what we know as well as between what we think they know - biases.
Given gobs upon gobs of written and spoken records of how bad (as a collective) each one of us is at doing the things we know are good for us - the list is long - a few interesting questions arose. And some answers began rolling down from the great mountain. And there was thunder. And there was lightening. Hm?
Whether those answers will prove to be reliable or not; the difference is all the same in the long run. Deep thinking is touted everywhere; long-thinking is lost in the shout. They think there is safety in the box; though some bravely climb out of the box to see if better thinking is on the outside of the box, and a few venture farther, and many of those soon give up for lack of consensus, while some stuck inside the box run around ringing bells, singing, stop thinking, stop thinkng, stop thinking! And they stop thinking. They kill their own dreams instead. Daily. They sabotage their thoughts. Coup d'etat. Coup d'etat. Coup d'etat. They side against their best interests. Happily. Still, we believe great things will happen. Somehow! Spectacularly.
But! There exists this strangely wicked dilemma: the fix needed in the funny market is rotting in the fish market; the grand idea floundering in the meddler's market is blooming in the wilds of the flower market; the grand spectacular that would've lit the broad market to reveal new wonders will never come to light in this era for the wanting of a wee little miracle gem being searched for everywhere but amongst the wee little children in the back alleys of the funny market.
By far the stangest of all is this. These wee scribbles here unfolding sure tell a wobbly-winky tale that in the streets of life's long landscape is every bit of real. And bloody. And smell. Yet, what if per chance you are one of many on those noisy streets not asleep but woke, and what if you are the one (at the urgency of our brightest belief) that is carrying within you the kernel of one of life's grand spectaculars, and what if it is you that is facing a mountain that is oh so huge, despite our belief . . .
During this series we are getting things done in fresh new ways with fresh new applications using solid working principles and employing exciting innovations.
In a remarkably innovative way you've not experienced before, each episode will transform one of the seven deadly sins into a fresh new lens and a BS Meter that will further enhance our abilites to get things done superbly well.
Enjoy.
Today's pivot QUESTION: if your guiding principle is a) authentic; b) inclusive; c) integral to your highest purpose; and d) timeless in its value
- what steps are you currently taking to ensure it is not being usurped nor degraded?

What Is In Your Personal Toolkit?
Effective leaders are effective communicators. Effective communicators are effective listeners, levelers and learners. They make things happen. Here, I'm leaning towards invaluable happenings; that real propensity of a leader to create the genuine spectacular.
If you are a courageous leader, what do you do to sustain and improve your effectiveness as a communicator? What is readily accessible in your toolkit to facilitate you?
Recently, viral videos of the instant reactions of various colorblind individuals who are presented with color-correcting glasses and for the first time are able to see their world the way clear-sighted folks see it have been popping up in my feed. Have you seen them? Emotional! They stir a few life-transforming thoughts within me; one of which regards effective listening.
Indeed, I have also been privy to like videos of individuals hearing for the first time: a baby hearing his mother's voice; a young girl hearing the sounds in her room; an adult hearing how our world sings and whispers through his trees. Wonder!
Are we taking too much for granted?
When we listen, what are we doing? We are present. We are actively engaged in the unfolding of a story. Our channel is open and clear; there is resonance. We are responsive - physically, emotionally, intellectually. We are connected. We are giving of ourselves in the interchange. That's what we are doing when we are listening.
Listening is not easy. But it has real value. Good listening is profitable.
When we are truly listening we experience the world around us bending and twisting and reshaping. We learn more about each other - far more than what is being said and what remains unspoken. It is revelatory. We experience ourselves being reshaped. We discover the extent of our resiliency. Through it all something becomes new.
So, listening is not easy. Nor cheap! But good listening is profitable. It is an active exchange of real value. Wisdom makes it that much more profitable.
Listening requires bravery, a willing abdication of power. Listening is scary when we are uncertain of who we are, when we are standing on shaky ground, when there are secret agendas swirling about us like loosed vipers. When trust is destroyed.
Listening is hard.
But good listening is profitable.
It is a school of great learning: listening to ourselves; listening to each other; listening to our creation; listening to our world, for even its stones speak to command our attention, even the winds speak, and as ancients have revealed in wisdom through great books, even an ass!
Yes, there is considerable proof: good listening profits the good listener. For, it is by listening and relating that one accrues ever better and deeper understanding of what makes those in our circles act like they do, think like they do, and decide like they do.
So, what is in your toolkit? What in it helps you to maintain your stature as an effective listener, such that in your openness to listening you are not unduly provoked, or left exasperated, irritated, enraged, infuriated, or reduced; and that doesn't have you revert to being shut off and closed-in? How do you use those tools?
What else is there in your toolkit that can sustain you as an effective leader as well as sustain your guiding principle to be a light, never your leash?

We do better when we know better!
It is the norm that creative thinking - original thinking - rarely leads to one and only one "correct" answer, rather to a set of viable alternatives with appealing but different opportunities. As an original thinker, how do you proceed in the wake of such an array of options?
On a scale of 'nuts' to 'starburst', how comfortable or uncomfortable are you with nuances or with operating in environments thriving with ambiguities?
Outstanding achievements, spectacular creations, satisfying solutions, are often designed and accomplished by teams. Have you ever built, led, or been a member of a phenomenal team? If so, what were its defining characteristics? How did those characteristics relate to or facilitate outcomes?
If not as much everywhere else, for sure within fast-paced and swiftly evolving smart environments, organic teams are proving crucial to desirable outcomes. Have you ever been a part of an organic team or discovered ways of seeding your environment to stimulate them to flourish?
If, say, great teams have a) a clearly defined energizing purpose (its focus); b) understand and appreciate the value of each person's participation and contribution; and c) consider themselves to be a part of something bigger than any individual, how do you deal with conflicts when they arise?

Take Action
"Know what you own. Understand what you claim. Believe you can achieve what you conceive then call it by its name. Mine! The extent to which you have this clarity of mind, this purity of understanding, this strength of belief, you have the fire, the fuel, the impetus, the passion, the determination, the willpower you require to pursue and retrieve your truest desire. But do not claim what does not belong to you. It will not keep you . . . it will suffer you but for only so long."
You are valued. You are important. What you experience is important. Your intention matters. You are a whole being. You are a true wonder. You diminish yourself whenever you pit valued elements of who you are against vital elements of who you are: your intuitive self against your intellectual self, your rational self against your emotional self, your gut against your heart against your head. Don't be put at war against yourself: you are a masterpiece. An intricate being. Human!

Life: it is a dance. It gets better with practice; its music is in your heart and in your soul and in your blood and in your bones. Life; it is a dance. It gets better with practice. You have a partner – your spirit. You can have a party if you like, but choose smartly who you invite, for life – your life – is a dance. It gets better with practice, unless you stop the music or so crowd your dance floor there is no space to move or be moved within it. Explore. Yes, life; it is a dance. It gets better with practice until the dance becomes the dancer and the dancer becomes the dance and life and all of existence becomes a singular flow. Yes, life; it is a dance. It gets better with practice. Dance.

a work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship.
All the more in the presence of the spectacular, the BS meter jiggles. This is not unusual in the broad market place. What is your BS meter signalling to you? Is it warning you of toxins in the environment? Do what is necessary to avoid being infected. Is it warning you of completed service? Be grateful for the service, take stock of its value, then move on: proceed to the next level.
Out beyond ideas of right doing and wrong doing there is a field. I'll meet you there.

Come, let us all be friends for once,
Let us make life easy on us,
Let us be lovers and loved ones,
The earth shall be left to no one.
Across the nation and around the world there is a long rumble.
It is a rumble so loud it strikes ready ears as a distant clap of a fierce thunder. It is a rumble so low, it rides beneath the noise of a thousand human fears; it can no longer be heard. Fear of flight, fear of heights, fear of sand, fear of snow, fear of monsters in the closet, fear of bugs in the pillow, fear of cats, fear of bats, fear of strangers at the door, fear of being lost, fear of being laughed at, fear of being stuck in the toilet bowl, fear of whites, fear of blacks, fear of browns, blues and yellows, fear of nakedness, fear of the unknown, fear of being hurt.

Standard problem-solving steps repeated: 1) Understand the problem. 2) Devise a workable plan to solve the problem. 3) Test your plan where applicable. 4) Implement the plan. 5) Interpret the results. 6) Use that feedback.
Something to Consider: We have an internal team. What do you do when your internal team members are in conflict with each other - or at loggerheads with your guiding principle - and have set up impassable boundaries, blocking your best moves? This internal team - the creators of your personal narrative; the protagonists and antagonists of your infernal stories; the arbiters of your doubts and fears; the adjudicators of your joy and peace; the advocates for your spectacular - are they in need of a courageous leader? We may also be 'blessed' with an organic team that is rising in proportion to our need in order to facilitate our progress toward fulfillment. What are you doing to nourish your organic team and to be in flow with it and to allow it its full breadth to complete its purpose? We have project teams, for no matter how "super" we might be, we are rarely meant to embrace the joys and struggles of achievement alone. Choose your teams wisely. How are you preparing your project teams to show their love? Consult your peeps. - (A Place Called Ah.)
