Like any good mother, her desire was to have her child grow bright and bold, and to be full of good humor and wit, and to be generous and courageous and kind.
For, being such, how could anyone not have the most beautiful story?
After all, what is the code and concept of life, of living, of humanity, if it is not to find one's calling and to have that calling be greater than one's self; if it is not to pursue that calling and complete it with joyous self-respect?
The most courageous act is to think for oneself and to behave in accordance with prudent values that reflect wisdom, justice and temperance - foundations of the joys of freedom.
Even though we are born free, endowed with inalienable rights, the experience of our freedom is an intentional act, not a reflex gene. Our exercise of this freedom requires more of resilient muscles than of cushioned knees.
"I am free," Robert A. Heinlein said, "because I am morally responsible for everything I do." Whether or not a person accepts that responsibility, life goes on. Whether or not one yearns to stay free, life goes on.
Eleanor Roseveldt said, "Freedom makes a huge requirement of every human being. With freedom comes responsibility. For the person who is unwilling to grow up, the person who does not want to carry his own weight, this is a frightening prospect."
Life at its best is its most fragile, its most resilient, and the most unconquerable creative force on earth. That a human is privileged with this gift is a bliss and a blessing bar none, the good stewardship of which is one's highest calling, the quality of which is its reward. Life goes on no matter who abdicates living out his or hers to its fullest.
It is the human that oppresses the human. It is the human that must wrest itself from that oppression. It is the human yearning for freedom who must deny every oppression of it and demand of that freedom wisdom and justice and temperance, absent which evil will persist in every reckless push toward full reign.
Welcome to the twelfth episode of Getting 'It' Done - Freedom - curated by Neville DeAngelou. Life is a unique adventure, but life without liberty is like a body without spirit. For, isn't freedom the open window through which pours the sunlight of the human spirit and human dignity?
"It is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it."

SCENARIO: If you or I were all alone on earth, that would be humanity. If you and I were as we are, alone on all of earth, that would be humanity. If it were just us two and those two and those two too, that would be humanity. Humanity is no more complicated than just that. What if it were you - alone - who wandered in to us,

Today's pivot QUESTION: say you were to awake from a dream into the brilliance of your vision, and in that moment you are convinced a) by Albert Camus that "Freedom is nothing else but a chance to be better," and b) by Albert Einstein saying, "Everything that is really great and inspiring is created by the individual who can labor in freedom," and c) by Buddha declaring, "No one outside ourselves can rule us inwardly. When we know this, we become free,"
- what changes would you immediately make to enhance your progress?

What Is In Your Personal Toolkit?
We consider adversity to be a given along life's journey and that the longer our journey the stronger its propensity, though fear or fortune may call it by some other name.
We've embraced Napolean Hill's expression that "Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit."
We've found, also, that it is prudent to grant adversity its proper due and to be prepared for it, mindful that the breadth and intensity of adversity are by no means even or equal across our journeys, and that comparison is a huge stumbling block.
In our ongoing preparation to meet and beat adversity, we value these two action words:
anticipate
attend
two words brightly engraved across our tool shed.

This episode's fresh new lens is sloth: def - "a slow-moving tropical American mammal that hangs upside down from the branches of trees using its long limbs and hooked claws.." (Which of LIFE'S virtues would you consider a counterpoint to sloth? 100 points. To compare your answer see Flight Of The Fused Monkeys - Listen to it - Read It.)

"Know what you own. Understand what you claim. Believe you can achieve what you conceive then call it by its name. Mine! The extent to which you have this clarity of mind, this purity of understanding, this strength of belief, you have the fire, the fuel, the impetus, the passion, the determination, the willpower you require to pursue and retrieve your truest desire. But do not claim what does not belong to you. It will not keep you . . . it will suffer you but for only so long."
You are valued. You are important. What you experience is important. Your intention matters. You are a whole being. You are a true wonder. You diminish yourself whenever you pit valued elements of who you are against vital elements of who you are: your intuitive self against your intellectual self, your rational self against your emotional self, your gut against your heart against your head. Don't be put at war against yourself: you are a masterpiece. An intricate being. Human!

Life: it is a dance. It gets better with practice; its music is in your heart and in your soul and in your blood and in your bones. Life; it is a dance. It gets better with practice. You have a partner – your spirit. You can have a party if you like, but choose smartly who you invite, for life – your life – is a dance. It gets better with practice, unless you stop the music or so crowd your dance floor there is no space to move or be moved within it. Explore. Yes, life; it is a dance. It gets better with practice until the dance becomes the dancer and the dancer becomes the dance and life and all of existence becomes a singular flow. Yes, life; it is a dance. It gets better with practice. Dance.
Masterpiece
a work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship.
What is your BS meter saying? Action Required! The decision is yours. Always. This, after all, is your life; only YOU can live it. May you let life fill you to your overflow. Seed the clouds. Replenish the earth. This is your moment to rise. You are not alone. Be bold. Arise. And if, perchance, you are not ready or willing, or you are too tired and exhausted, or you are so disinterested you will not rise, may the goodness of life, as much as it is possible, meet you right there too.
Out beyond ideas of right doing and wrong doing there is a field. I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about.

Come, let us all be friends for once,
Let us make life easy on us,
Let us be lovers and loved ones,
The earth shall be left to no one.
Across the nation and around the world there is a long rumble.
It is a rumble so loud it strikes ready ears as a distant clap of a fierce thunder. It is a rumble so low, it rides beneath the noise of a thousand human fears; it can no longer be heard. Fear of flight, fear of heights, fear of sand, fear of snow, fear of monsters in the closet, fear of bugs in the pillow, fear of cats, fear of bats, fear of strangers at the door, fear of being lost, fear of being laughed at, fear of being stuck in the toilet bowl, fear of whites, fear of blacks, fear of browns, blues and yellows, fear of nakedness, fear of the unknown, fear of being hurt.
