Like any good mother, her desire was to have her child grow bright and bold, and to be full of good humor and wit, and to be generous and courageous and kind.
For, being such, how could anyone not have the most beautiful story?
After all, what is the code and concept of life, of living, of humanity, if it is not to find one's calling and to have that calling be greater than one's self; if it is not to pursue that calling and complete it with joyous self-respect?
Could it be that as one grows into evermore profitable relationships - healthier companions, healthier concepts, healthier practices - one's dream changes, that It transforms, rendering itself variously visible, perhaps like a rainbow?
The existence of a rainbow is in toto a reflection of its environment. Not only that! The brilliance of a rainbow in toto is reflective of its environment. Each rainbow, unaware of itself, presents itself (of its own accord) wholly to some, invisibly to others - even though it is stretched across a singular sky. Isn't that something? Coincidentally, rainbows are not the only phenomenon with such peculiar behaviors. So, what else?

For a long while I thought these certain happenings were mere coincidences. Strange coincidences!
I was a boy then. Not yet ten! I would wander out of our house and into our kitchen garden - never mind the reason - and sit on a rock. Or at times upon a pile of branches. Sometimes on plain dirt. Or I'd just stoop between flourishing garden beds. Each and every of such times I'd hear (flowing through our humble window, or through our only door, or by some other way somehow) my mother singing this very song: You Will Never Walk Alone. I always felt it to be such a weird coincidence she was singing that very song again, and I presumed that particular song was being played on the radio again and that my mother was just cheerfully singing along. Again! Except for this one time: I was at the backside of the garden, stick in hand whacking aimlessly at the dirt - never mind the reason - when I heard her singing that very song, You Will Never Walk Alone, and saw that she was in the yard, and that there was no radio anywhere around, and I thought: what a strange coincidence!
Now I know, though it took me a long time to come to know, those were no coincidences! Not at all. And yet life seems full of them! Isn't that something?

It seems incredibly extraordinary that this droplet sliding off of this shiny leaf, a droplet that would be readily rendered invisible if sitting on a sunny stone, will change the shape and flow of a mighty river; even more so, that this droplet is itself, in fact, a river isolated, naked, beholden by eavesdroppers. Strange. Indeed. This singular drop, every itty bit of it a full rivering self, every measure of it to itself more than enough, is in fact an ocean. Strange. Indeed. Quite something!

Miracles of mind-over-matter and follies of matterless minds are enormously edifying.
As we journey across different landscapes through different communities experiencing various contentions, we encounter this strange phenomenon: our peoples have a paradoxical relationship with reality. As it was of old, so it still is: everyone knows it exists, but no one knows what it is nor where it is and are as equally compelled in their search as in their differing claims to have found it.

Full-On Awareness
Environment plays an enormous role in our daily lives and the quality of our living. Our environment is not static; it is continuously evolving in its relations with us. We impact our environment. Our environment impacts us. It is a reciprocal relationship. Unawareness is hardly bliss, so how do we make it a worthy relationship - one we could be continually proud of? What do you consider your environment? It is the air we breathe and much more. It includes our communal relationships, our operating systerms, our modes of interactions. How well do you understand your environment?
Is who you are intent on becoming relevant to the times and the environment you are traversing or inhabiting? Do you need to rework your environment suitable to the cause you are authentically called? Do you need to think differently, act differently, relate differently, and if so, how are you going about being sustainably worthy of the value you are on earth? Who is deciding your value and your worth? What measures are you using? Are you working in harmony with your evolving environment? Is your environment working with you? My uncle used to say this: put up or shut up. My granny used to say this: if you don't like it change it; if you can't change it work with it; if you can't work with it, get out! Don't bruise your knees hanging around! You are more than enough! Be the salt of the earth; that proves profitable.

Through action! Wherever and whenever we are struggling to survive we will find it untenably difficult to thrive! Though we are never alone, without meaningful action good intention is all of just that - good intention. Without action we are left with a song, and long nights of singing, and calloused knees, and wet eyes! Who knows, maybe that is a good thing for some, or the best mode for you. If so, be grateful. And carry on. Either way, it is smart to know. Be sure to know, for action without good intention is sad, and good intention without action is nothing at all. Be alert to your environment. Sick environments sicken their inhabitants. Healthy environments sustain good health. Be alert, not anxious! Know and understand your environment. Your environment (social or otherwise) may well be populated with many bad (viral) actors. Be aware, not panicked! Healthy or smart decision-making is useful and necessary alongside common sense. To put it another way, literally or metaphorically, not everyone saying, "Lord, Lord, Lord," or "God, God, God," or "Jesus Christ," is of such, or know of what they speak! Be alert not anxious. May you be at bliss being profitably related, knowing our environment impacts us as much as we impact it. Life thrives in balance.

You are valued. You are important. What you experience is important. Your intention matters. You are a whole being. You are a true wonder. You diminish yourself whenever you pit valued elements of who you are against vital elements of who you are: your intuitive self against your intellectual self, your rational self against your emotional self, your gut against your heart against your head. Don't be put at war against yourself: you are a masterpiece. An intricate being. Human!

Home is a special place. Love resides there. The best journeys take you there. Hope lives there. Home leaves no question about belonging. Friends belong there. Dreams thrive there.
