Here is a pair of questions I am asked fairly frequently; hardly a week goes by without one or the other being presented.

• What inspires you, how do you keep going, how do you get it all done?
• You're so inspired, how can I keep being inspired?

The first question is much easier for me to answer. The second depends on who is asking. Usually, in response to that second I smile and nod, or hug the person, or say some well-meaning thing that seems silly on reflection.

For the first, all around me is brimming with inspiration, even our home - see the video above - this wonder we live in - how can I not be inspired? And realizing how it got there, and discovering those with whom I share it, oh yes, there is so much inspiration all around. What inspires you?

Do you have a team?

God has a team. Yes?

Jesus has a team. Yes? Babies have teams, don't they? No?

Whether for personal leadership, inspirational leadership, emergent leadership, entrepreneural leaderaship, transformational leadership, is a personal team integral to growth and achievement? And what about virtual teams? Is that a thing? A real thing? A very important thing? How do we build such relationships?

I find the study of our biblical heroes and sheroes quite instructive on those questions. You know, I grew up enamored by those giants of achievement and transformation in the bible, and am still infatuated - whether it is by learning or experience or blindness or bias or the need to prove God is God - I thought they all did it alone! (Just God and me, as my Grandma used to say, just God and me, and yes that's true, oh how I know it) - then as I grew in understanding I began to see and hear and learn so much more of what was going on and what goes on. Teams! And the stories got richer. Fuller. Truer to life! Share what you see. What do you think of having a team? Is it necessary for growth? Surround yourself with people who inspire you, in whose company you grow. It is in keeping with personal leadership. It makes a world of difference. Are your dreams ruining your life?
