Spiritual growth is something that happens to us when we apply ourselves to an understanding of who God is, and how God manifests and shows up in our lives.

Jesus gets personal with me. My 'inter-personal' beatitudes on blast! Oh, what love! (What about you?)

Welcome to my 'inter-personal' share!

1. We, as a people (as communities), are privy to facts. We have facts. Rarely all of the facts! Nevertheless, we have access to a certain set of facts.
2. People in general (no matter who we are), each of us (in particular), no matter the level of our intelligence, decide what facts we want to believe and what facts we prefer to disregard.

Together, this is a reality of human behavior - saved or unsaved; grateful or selfrighteous, humble or proud! (One is welcome to pretend otherwise, believe otherwise, or conclude otherwise. Let there be no argument! Life is a discovery process.)

• Many of us are often disposed to asserting it is those 'other' people that are disregarding accessible facts, and that we are not! Ha-ha-ha! Okay!
• It is also established that many of us use intelligence not necessarily to discover the truth (though we make that claim) but to maniupulate the information to suit 'prior beliefs' and 'present purpose.' We see what we want to see, hear what we want to hear!

True or not, such a reality is no excuse. The fact is, the decision on how to process available facts and information is firmly ours individually and collectively to exercise.

In other words, by general default, our bed is what it is and we play a significant role in its current state. Jesus reveals my bed then shows me how to make it.

Okay, where were we?!

Oh, yes! A vital relationship! An awesome relationship. Making the bed! First thing after rising! Each and every day! It takes understanding. It takes commitment. It takes practice. It sets the stage for EVERYTHING! (For me!) Try it, see if you like it.

Our bed: Oh, The Bliss!

Generally, in the wake of over use and misuse, 'blessed' has lost much of its original shine and potency, recoverable (to me) by reviving its original sense and meaning, "Oh, The Bliss!"

Yes! Yes! Yes! Oh, The Bliss! Like a new birth! Oh, The Bliss! Like that first stretch - ahhh - awaking into a welcomed new day, after an awesome night, another grand adventure on tap. Oh, The Bliss! Like knowing EVERYTHING is ALRIGHT! Oh, The Bliss! Like, oh-yeah, let imaginations run wild. Oh, The Bliss! YES! Rising out of a sweet rest, readied for this fresh new day! That's this bed - my bed. Our bed? Oh, The Bliss! Jesus has awakened us into a newer reality - a renewed mindset - a very peculiar sense of what already is - CURRENT ON-GOING State of BLISS! (Too pollyana-ish?) No! A vitality. A state of real assurance CENTERED in the actualities of the HUMAN CONDITION!

• Acceptance of who one is
• Recognition of what is

Deliberate action: Balance, Focus, Rhythm. In other words, see what is for what it is, ACCEPT WHAT IS for what it is (no less, no more!); focus, seek balance, establish a desired rhythm - your rhythm. Create Flow. Fly. Let's give this a try.

This is the bed we choose to sleep in. This is the bed we choose to rise from. This is the bed we choose to make and remake each day.

It is a choice - not a command nor a demand nor a reward.

It is a smart choice. Peiod!

No one is able to snatch them from My Father’s hand. My Father and I are one." All things are possible. Start with what is just outside your comfort zone. Believe. Act upon it. Step outside and breathe.

WORD TO THE WISE: Make Your Own Bed.

There is something about making one's own bed first thing in the morning as part of preparing one's self to start the day. Something unique. A kind of settling of the mind into something new. A kind of setting of the rhythm for the day. Something luxurious. Something comfortable. Something inviting. Something engendering a kind of confidence: the knowledge that when this day is done one is able to drop one's self into the luxury of welcome comfort; a mental gathering of the seeds to be planted for the day; a mental sighting of the soil in which one's selected seeds can germinate. Something that sparks one's courage. A kind of sliding open of clarity's curtain.

What is this something?

Let's give 'making the bed' a try. Let's see if we can devise a proper name for this daily opening act. (All the more worthy an act to engage if one considers one's self 'not a morning person.')
