NEWS FLASH. This world (earth) is not flat! Surprise-SURPRISE! It is NOT ROUND either. This world behaves quite flat in places and operates entirely as if round from several valued perspectives. Treat it as flat when its behaviour is round or round when its activity is flat and someone will be very disappointed creating a reality that is NOT sustainable and in which the only wonder is DISASTER. The actual shape of Planet Earth is AMAZING! I think. And ever evolving, evidence suggests. And its features (land, water, air) are . . . well, what have you uncovered? |
CHALLENGER DEEP |
A Boyish Reality - As a boy running through open fields (carnation, tulips, daisies, lilies - the lot) or flat on my back on the dustless green playing I-See-You with Hide-And-Seek clouds, I sometimes replayed in my mind a classic my mother often sang to me, which was made famous by Sachmo, the Great Trumpeter. That song is called What A Wonderful World. It always filled me with hope. It excited me. It still does. It inspired me to dream of a wonderful world and I could feel the wonderful world I could not yet see. I believed. I was a boy. Maybe, I'm still a boy. Very much that very boy in that very same frame of life another set of realities necessitated me dashing across pastures, sprinting up streets, and hiding behind rocks, in open view of a world that was everything but wonderful, and conspicuously hideous. At times, I escaped up into trees in serach of some way or means of reorganizing these two descrepant realities. Do you know what I mean? Seems someone else was also up in that tree with me trying to figure it out. Take a look, you'll see what I mean. |
