Re-Imagining Peace
The war on Christmas; it's when Christians forget to observe peace with each other.
The war on Christmas is when justice is denied.
The real war on Christmas is when we stop feeding the hungry, and clothing those who are naked, and stop visiting those who are ill and those who are sick and those who are in hospital.
The real war on Christmas is when Christians become so self-righteous that they forget the Jesus they came to worship on Sunday Mornings in their church when they go out into the world.
That's the war on Christmas.
And the reason why that's the war on Christmas is because we've forgotten to re-imagine what peace looks like.
We've forgotten the peace that Christ offers to us.
We've forgotten what it means to be followers of Jesus; is to be peace-makers; is to be love-creators.
The war on Christmas is when we forget the values that Jesus came and birthed on that first Christmas all those years ago.
That's the war on Christmas.
And that's another cool thing our Senior Pastor told us.
